Privacy Policy

BlockGuard is designed to minimize data collection. We only collect the following information:

• Email Address: Collected if you provide it for account or support purposes.
• User-Entered Data: URLs and keywords you add to your personal block list or whitelist.

We do not access your browsing history, search queries, or any other personal information beyond what you explicitly provide for the app's functionality.

Additionally, our advertising partner, Google AdMob, may automatically collect certain device and usage data (such as your advertising identifier, IP address, and app interaction data) to serve ads within the app. See Section 5, "Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)," below for details.

• Email Address: Used solely for account management or to respond to your support requests.
• Block/Allow Lists: Stored to enable your personalized blocking and whitelisting preferences.

Other than the ad-serving data collected by Google AdMob as described in Section 5, we do not use your information for advertising, analytics, or any other secondary purposes.

All user data (email, block/allow lists) is stored securely, either locally on your device using Android's secure storage or, if applicable, on our secure servers over HTTPS.

We do not store or transmit any data beyond what is strictly required for the app's core functionality.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

BlockGuard may request the following Android permissions to provide its core functionality:

• Accessibility Service: Used to detect and block restricted content within browsers and apps on your device.
• Internet Access: Required to communicate with our servers for account management and list synchronization.

No permissions are used beyond what is necessary for the features you actively use.

BlockGuard uses Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google, to display ads within the app.

To serve and personalize these ads, AdMob may automatically collect and process certain data from your device, including (but not limited to):

• Your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
• IP address and general location information
• Device and app usage information (e.g., ad interactions)

This data is collected and processed directly by Google, not by BlockGuard, and is governed by Google's own privacy and advertising policies, which we encourage you to review:

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's settings (typically Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization) or by resetting your advertising identifier.

• We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
• As described in Section 5, our advertising partner Google AdMob collects certain device and usage data directly in order to serve ads within the app.
• Data is otherwise only used to provide the core features of BlockGuard.
• We will only disclose your information if required by law.

You can view, edit, or delete your block and allow lists at any time through the app's interface.

If you wish to remove your email or all stored data, contact us at contact.blockguard@gmail.com and we will promptly delete your information.

To control ad personalization data collected by Google AdMob, see the opt-out instructions in Section 5.

BlockGuard is intended for users of all ages, including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated via the app or our website. Continued use of BlockGuard after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
